Pick a mood

Three nights, three stories.

Velvet & Lanterns

Give the lantern an amber glow. Repeat burgundy in a bow, curtain, or chair, and use espresso for soft shadows.

Midnight Visitor

Make the pumpkin face the brightest point. Cool blues in the setting turn its orange glow into the star of the scene.

Autumn Conservatory

Use moss and copper for leaves and garden details. A little plum adds drama without making the page too dark.

A simple coloring plan

Make the pumpkin glow.

01 · Pick the glow

Start with the pumpkin or lantern. Keep its center pale yellow and build orange around the edges.

02 · Echo one color

Repeat your warm accent in two or three small details so the scene feels connected.

03 · Save the shadows

Add dark blues, browns, or purples at the end. Leave highlights lighter to preserve the nighttime sparkle.

Try colors on spare paper before starting, and place a protective sheet behind the page if you use markers.

Keep the story going.
